Granite snags $33M path project in Nevada

ConDig (28-Apr-17).  Granite Construction has pocketed a $33 million contract to build a shared  use path on State Route 28 in Incline Village, Nevada.

The construction manager at risk deal was issued by the Nevada Department of Transportation and involves constructing three miles of shared use path adjacent to State Route 28 along the shoreline of Lake Tahoe, from the Ponderosa Ranch to Sand Harbor State Park.

Watsonville, California-based Granite will build six short span bridges, excavate 30,000 cubic yards of roadway, construct eight sculpted shotcrete walls and 16 vista points.

Work also includes the installation of drainage structures, storm drainpipe, curbs and gutters, fiber optic conduit and a new parking lot.

Construction is slated to start this spring and is expected to be complete by the summer 2019.

Earlier this month, Granite announced it had secured a $59 million demolition sub-contract at the Midfield Satellite Concourse North project at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) in California.
