JEL Site Development files for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection

ConDig (21-Aug-19).  Florida-based construction company JEL Site Development Inc has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.

In documents filed last week in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Middle District of Florida, the Winter Park-based company reported unsecured claims of $2.8 million and assets listed as under $50,000.

The company, which has worked on schools, medical centers, apartment complexes and shopping centers across Central Florida, owes about $75,000 in unpaid payroll taxes to the IRS and $70,373.66 in wage claims, according to court documents.

JEL Site Development, which was founded in 2000, has roughly 67 employees and had reported annual revenue of about $25 million, the court documents showed.
