Mercer-Fraser drives off with SR 36 revamp contract in north west California

ConDig (09-May-17).  Eureka, California-based construction company Mercer Fraser Co has won a Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) contract to upgrade State Route 36 in north west California with a successful bid of $31.18 million.

The company secured the deal after out bidding Redding, CA-based Steve Manning Construction Inc.

Under the contract, upgrade work will be carried out on SR 36 in Humboldt County between the communities of Bridgeville and Dinsmore.

This will involve realigning the route horizontally and vertically and constructing two 12 feet travel lanes with 4 feet paved shoulders.

It will also feature the installation of underdrains; sheet drains; culverts; reinforced soil slopes; rock embankments; rock buttresses and soil anchors.
