Skanska snags $34M demolition contract in New York

ConDig (02-Apr-20).  Swedish developer and contractor Skanska has landed a $34 million deal for pre-construction services and site demolition at the New York City Public Health Lab, in New York City.

Under the deal with the New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC), the company will provide design and construction reviews, estimating and carry out the demolition of three buildings at the Harlem Hospital complex.

Demolition kicked off in February and the contract is earmarked for completion by July next year.  

In February, a joint venture led by Skanska bagged a $301 million deal to design and build a new bridge over the Potomac River in Maryland.

In November, Skanska signed an additional $42 million contract for the expansion of Portland airport.

In September, Skanska landed a $32 million deal to upgrade the University of Cincinnati College of Law in Cincinnati, in Ohio. It also said it had booked a $74 million deal to build residential apartments in Nashville, Tennessee.
