Skanska to develop and build $360 million office tower in Houston

ConDig (12-Apr-17). Skanska is to develop and build a $360 million, 35-story office tower in downtown Houston.

The construction element of the project is worth $151 million and work is slated to start this month, with completion expected in the second quarter of 2019.

The tower will include 72,500 square meters of office space and 2,400 square meters of rentable retail space. It also includes an 11-level parking garage and will be built to meet green building standards set out by the US Green Building Council.

Skanska said that the anchor tenant is Bank of America, who will occupy about 20,000 square meters after completion.

Skanska recently bagged a $45 million deal to renovate and expand the University Hospital in Virginia.

Under the contract with existing client University of Virginia Health System, the company will  carry out early site work, relocate utilities as well as tower and renovation construction.

The entire multi-phased hospital expansion and renovation project is scheduled for completion in December 2020.
