Tutor Perini subsidiary nets $178M Air Force housing project

ConDig (23-Sept-19).  A subsidiary of civil, building and specialty construction company Tutor Perini has snagged a $178 million deal to replace homes at Andersen Air Force Base in the United States territory of Guam.

Under the deal with US Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Pacific, Black Construction Corp will build duplex buildings with reinforced concrete foundations, concrete floors, concrete walls and concrete-sloped roofs designed for 170 mph wind speed to withstand Guam’s frequent typhoons.

Work on the project is expected to start in the fourth quarter of this year and substantial completion is slated for June 2022.

In June, Black Construction landed a $122 million contract to build a wastewater treatment plant in the Village of Dededo, in Guam.

In August, a subsidiary of Tutor Perini pocketed a $121 million water and power tunneling project in Los Angeles.
