Black Construction-Tutor Perini land $38.3M deal for marine base upgrade

ConDig (17-Sept-24) A joint venture between civil, building and specialty construction company Tutor Perini Corporation and Black Construction Corporation has bagged a $38.3 million contract to upgrade a Marine Corps base in Guam. 

Under the deal with Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command, the joint venture will construct low-rise facilities to support the 3rd Marine Expeditionary Force, 9th Engineering Support Battalion.

Work on the project is expected to kick off in the first quarter of next year, with substantial completion expected in November 2026.

The project will also include reinforced concrete structural frame walls, floor, roof and a concrete shallow foundation system. The administration building will include the battalion/squadron headquarters and company/battery headquarters, and will provide private and open offices, meeting rooms and miscellaneous support spaces, Tutor Perini said.

In June, a subsidiary of Tutor Perini has secured a $53.6 million contract to build a bridge in St. Paul, Minnesota.
