Skanska lands $68M deal to revamp Collin College campus

ConDig (19-Dec–24) Swedish developer and contractor Skanska has secured a $68 million contract to upgrade the Plano campus at Collin College, Texas.

The project involves19,500 square meter of existing building renovations and includes a new roof, conversion of existing office and classroom spaces into lab areas, updated MEP systems, expanded kitchen and dining room spaces, theater expansion and a new police office.

Additionally, there will be a general refresh and reconfiguration of administration areas, common spaces, and classrooms.

Work is scheduled to begin in January 2025 and is earmarked for completion in August of 2026.

It comes as Skanska unveiled last week that it had landed a $450 million deal to upgrade the parking garage at Logan Airport in Boston.

Work will begin in the first quarter of 2025 and the garage is anticipated to be completed in 2028.

The contractor also drove off with a $336 million contract for freight and express lanes at I-15 in Ontario, California.

Construction is slated to start in January 2025 and with expected completion in July 2028.

Earlier this month, Skanska secured a $126 million contract to revamp the historical Legislative Plaza in Nashville, Tennessee.
