Palo, Iowa — Duane Arnold Energy Center Restart and Refurbishment

NextEra Energy is advancing the restart and refurbishment of the 615-MW Duane Arnold Energy Center in Linn County, Iowa, supported by a US Department of Energy loan of up to $1.9 billion. The multi-year program is expected to generate substantial construction and refurbishment work, with the plant targeted to return to service no later than the first quarter of 2029, subject to regulatory approvals.
