EdgeConneX files plans for $1.2B Texas data-center expansion

EdgeConneX has filed plans for two additional $600 million data centers in Cedar Creek, Bastrop County, taking the latest planned investment to $1.2 billion. The two facilities are each expected to span about 591,400 square feet, with construction targeted to begin in November 2026 and run through May 2028, according to reporting based on the Texas project filings.

Why it matters: Central Texas continues to attract hyperscale infrastructure at extraordinary speed, creating a deep pipeline for contractors, electrical work and power infrastructure.

Consigli lands $364.9M Marine Corps barracks program

Consigli Construction has been awarded a $364.9 million firm-fixed-price contract for the Marine Corps Barracks Initiative at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, North Carolina. The Department of War said the maximum value including options is $373.5 million, with completion expected in August 2030.

Why it matters: The award is one of the largest federal vertical-construction contracts announced this week and adds a substantial long-duration project to the military construction pipeline.

Houston Rodeo breaks ground on $300M agricultural complex

The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo has broken ground on The Farm, a 1 million-square-foot agricultural complex on roughly 350 acres along Highway 288. The Rodeo describes it as the largest single facilities investment in its history; the privately funded project is expected to open for the 2029 Rodeo.

BL Harbert wins $207.9M aircraft hangar at MCAS Beaufort

Crusoe raises $3.9B to accelerate AI-infrastructure buildout

AI infrastructure developer Crusoe has closed the initial portion of a $3.9 billion Series F financing round at a $30.9 billion post-money valuation. Crusoe said the capital will support expansion of existing programs and construction of its own AI factories, from large integrated campuses to modular facilities.

Why it matters: The financing puts another enormous pool of private capital behind the US AI-infrastructure boom and supports a continuing pipeline of data-center, power and related construction.

Four Tribes gets $25M Edwards AFB electrical-work contract

Four Tribes Civil Construction has received a $25 million ceiling contract covering electrical services at Edwards Air Force Base in California. The Department of War said the work can include electrical projects, blueprints, studies, equipment, overhead lines and poles, with the contract running through September 2028.

Why it matters: The award adds a multi-year federal pipeline for electrical and utility infrastructure at one of the Air Force’s key test installations.

New Jersey financing clears $18.5M senior housing project for construction

New Jersey Housing and Mortgage Finance Agency financing has cleared the final hurdle for Bridgeton Phoenix Senior Village, an $18.5 million affordable housing development in Cumberland County. NJHMFA said the 64-unit project is expected to begin construction in September and be completed in November 2027.
