ACS Group/Hochtief-led consortium lands $1.5B rail project at LA airport

ConDig (29-Jan-18).  A consortium led by ACS Group and Hochtief has been selected for a $1.5 billion rail project at Los Angeles International airport.

Under the 25-year public-private partnership project, the team will plan, finance, construct and operate an automated people mover located 15 to 20 meters above the ground that will have six stops connecting new parking facilities, hire car points and metro light rail stations with the airline terminals.

A track of around 3.6 km in length, on which up to nine trains will be able to travel simultaneously, is aimed at improving passengers’ access to the terminals of the second-largest airport in the US, the team said.

Commercial close and financial close is scheduled for April 2018 and June 2018, respectively. Construction is expected to be completed by early 2023.

The team also includes Dragados USA, Flatiron, Fluor, Balfour Beatty and Bombardier.
