Primoris pulls away with $21M rail contract at Texas port

ConDig (06-Jul-17).  Construction and infrastructure company Primoris Services Corp has bagged a $21 million contract to build a rail spur and track yard at a port in Freeport, Texas.

Under the deal with Port Freeport, Dallas, Texas-based Primoris will also build 21,000 linear feet of track, associated paving and carry out drainage improvements.

The company said the rail spur will tie into an existing Union Pacific line and service an ongoing expansion at Port Freeport.

Work is slated to start in the third quarter of this year and completion is set for the second quarter of next year.

Primoris also noted that its heavy civil division is pursuing additional project opportunities amid the expansion at Port Freeport.

Earlier this week, Primoris announced an additional $22 million deal for an existing civil contract with a petrochemical company in Louisiana.
