Southern Nevada — GridLiance West Core Transmission Upgrades

GridLiance West, a subsidiary of NextEra Energy Transmission, has started construction on the Core Upgrades Project in Clark and Nye counties, Nevada.

The project includes approximately 155 miles of new or rebuilt 230-kV and 500-kV transmission lines together with new and upgraded substations. The upgrades are designed to add roughly 1 GW of transmission capacity, improve reliability and support further industrial and economic development.

GridLiance expects approximately 500 construction jobs. Completion is targeted for mid-2028.

Status: Construction started September 2026.
Completion: Mid-2028.
