Skanska inks $73M deal for event center in Tennessee

ConDig (07-Apr-21).  Swedish developer and contractor Skanska has secured a $73 million contract for a multi-purpose event center in Clarksville, Tennessee.

Under the deal, the contractor will oversee the building of a 23,200 square meter multi-purpose event venue accommodating Austin Peay State University (APSU) men’s and women’s basketball programs, ice hockey, concerts and other civic and entertainment functions. 

The main arena will accommodate more than 5,000 seats, and includes suites and concessions areas. It will have two sheets of ice for hockey with supporting locker rooms, an APSU practice court, and APSU locker rooms and meeting rooms, according to the company.                  

Construction on the project has already started and is slated for completion in the fourth quarter of 2022.

In December, Skanska bagged two contracts in Georgia and Florida worth a total of $120 million. It also signed an additional $80 million contract to expand Portland International Airport, Oregon.

In October, Skanska secured a $91 million contract to upgrade an aluminum processing facility in the Southeast of the US.

In September, Skanska secured a $64 million contract to build a data center in Oregon. It also bagged a $106 million deal last month for the 95 Northbound viaduct replacement in Providence, Rhode Island.
