Skanska lands $48M deal for manufacturing facility

ConDig (06-Mar-19).  Swedish developer and contractor Skanska has netted a $48 million contract to build a manufacturing facility in the western region of the US.

The company said that the deal was an additional order with an existing unnamed client.

Construction work is under way and the project is slated for completion in the second quarter of 2022.

Last month, landed a $96 million contract to widen State Route 60 in Riverside, California.

In January, Skanska announced that it had secured three contracts worth a total of $178 million to new build school buildings across the US.

A joint venture led by Skanska secured a $169 million contract in December to upgrade the Chelsea Viaduct Bridge in Boston, Massachusetts.

In November, another joint venture led by Skanska bagged a 75 million contract to build four schools in Harrison, Ohio. The company also reported in November that operating income tumbled 49% in the third quarter to Swedish crowns (SEK) 2.4 billion compared with SEK 4.7 billion a year earlier, while order intake at the group’s construction division, which books the bulk of group sales, was 30.6 billion Swedish crowns ($3.40 billion) compared with 34.1 billion in the year-ago period.
