Skanska-led JV in $93M Ohio schools deal

ConDig (01-Nov-17). A joint venture led by developer and contractor Skanska has landed a $93 million contract to build two schools in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Under the construction deal with the Winton Woods City School District and the Ohio Facilities Construction Commission, Skanska and its partner Megen Construction will build a 19,000-square-meter elementary school and a 22,000-square-meter middle and high school.

Construction is slated to start in January next year and is expected to be complete in January 2021.

Both projects will seek a minimum of Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Silver certification.

Skanska said it will include its 70% share of the contract worth $65 million in its US order bookings for the fourth quarter this year.

Last month, the company announced a $452 million deal to revamp the George Washington Bridge (GWB) in New York City.
