Skanska scores $113M contract for Boston College recreation center

ConDig (16-Jun-17).  Developer and contractor Skanska has netted a $113 million contract to build a recreation center at Boston College in Massachusetts.

Under the deal, Skanska will replace Boston College’s existing Flynn Recreation Complex with a four-story, 22,500-square-meter facility.

Skanska said the center’s exterior will match the campus’ distinctive Gothic aesthetic, while the interior will feature numerous flexible spaces to ensure versatility and functionality.

Construction is already underway and the project is slated to finish next summer.

The deal comes as Skanska announced yesterday that it had landed a $49 million contract to revamp the east end of Las Olas Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

It also won a $120 million contract to build a manufacturing facility in the western region of the US with an unnamed client earlier this month.
