Tampa airport secures three bids for new $790M terminal

ConDig (26-Jan-23) Tampa International Airport has received bids from three companies for the design-build contract for the construction of Airside D.

The three companies jockeying for the project that is estimated to cost about $790 million are Austin Commercial LP, Hensel Phelps Construction Co and The Weitz Company LLC.

Tampa Airport said the 16-gate terminal for domestic and international flights will be the culmination of its 2012 Master Plan. 

A round of technical evaluation meetings are schedule to take place between February and March, according to the procurement overview document released by Tampa Airport.

The airport board is then set to meet on May 4 before part one of the contract, which is the design element, will be awarded on August 3.
