Tutor Perini subsidiary locks in on $78M firing range facility in Guam

ConDig (29-Aug-17). A subsidiary of civil, building and specialty construction company Tutor Perini Corp has secured a $78 million design and build contract for a live-fire training range complex at a US naval base in Guam.

Under the deal with US Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Guam-based subsidiary Black Construction Corp will design and build four live-fire training range complexes and supporting structures at the Andersen naval base.

Supporting structures include a range maintenance building, a known distance rifle and pistol range administration building, area distribution node with radio frequency communication tower and two surface radar and camera sites.

Work on the project is expected to start in October this year and is slated to be substantially finished by November 2020.

Guam is a US island territory in Micronesia, in the Western Pacific.

Earlier this month, Los Angeles, California-based Tutor Perini Corp reported net income for the three months ended June 30 of $30.1 million compared with $21.4 million for the second quarter of last year.

Revenue was $1.24 billion compared with $1.3 billion a year earlier, while project backlog was $7.6 billion, up 21% compared with $6.2 billion as of the end of December.
