ConDig (30-Nov–21) Dallas, Texas-based construction and infrastructure company Primoris Services Corp has secured two heavy civil contracts from the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development for a combined value of $520 million.
Under the first deal, the contractor will construct a section of highway on LA 3241 for more than $60 million.
The second contract, valued at $460 million, features the construction of a section of elevated highway on LA 1.
Work on the LA 3241 project is slated to start in the fourth-quarter of this year and be completed in second-quarter 2023. The LA 1 project is likely to begin in the first-quarter of next year and scheduled for completion in fourth-quarter 2027.
“These projects, which were discussed in our recent earnings call, add a steady stream of heavy civil work to our energy/renewables backlog all the way into 2027. Additionally, we were involved in the original construction of LA 1, so we are very familiar with the scope and complexity of this project,” said Primoris president and chief executive officer Tom McCormick.
Primoris has been benefiting from strong project execution in its energy/renewables division. It recently secured two solar contracts for engineering, procurement, and construction of a utility-scale solar facility in Southwest and Midwest for more than $120 million.
In May, Primoris said it had secured $525 million worth of utility contracts in the first quarter.
In March, Primoris announced that it had bagged a $40 million contract for the reconstruction of part of the Pali Highway on Hawaii’s island of Oahu.
