Bristol General takes off with $13.3M naval air station contract

ConDig (18-Aug-17).  Bristol General Construction LLC has landed a $13.37 million firm-fixed-price contract to design and build a naval operational support center at the Naval Air Station, in Fallon, Nevada.

Under the contract with the Naval Facilities Engineering Command, the Anchorage, Alaska-based company will build a steel framed, multi-story reserve center to include a pile foundation, reinforced concrete masonry unit walls and standing seam metal roof.

Information systems will include a secret internet protocol router network, non-secure internet router network, basic telephone, computer network, fiber optic, cable television, security and fire alarm systems and infrastructure.

The project, which is expected to be completed by August 2019, also includes a un-exercised option and two planned modifications, which if exercised would increase the project value to $15.9 million.

The Naval Facilities Engineering Command said that three tenders for the scheme were received.

The Naval Air Station Fallon is the US Navy’s top air-to-air and air-to-ground training facility. It is located southeast of the city of Fallon in western Nevada and is home to the Naval Fighter Weapons School (TOPGUN).
