Caddell Construction scores $42.6M deal to build Special Operations Forces facility

ConDig (03-Aug-17).  Montgomery, Alabama-based Caddell Construction Co LLC has bagged a $42.6 million contract to build the second phase of a tactics facility for Special Operations Forces.

Under the deal with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, construction of the facility in Fayetteville, North Carolina, is expected to be completed by August 2, 2019.

Bids were solicited via the Internet with five received, according to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

US Special Operations Forces (SOF) are components of the Department of Defense’s United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM).

Meanwhile, Escondido, California-based Herman Construction Group Inc and Rockledge, Florida-based J.P. Donovan Inc have been selected for $49.5 million design-build contracts at three air force bases.

The projects will center around upgrades to Vandenberg Air Force Base, California; Cape Canaveral, Florida; and Schriever AFB, Colorado.

Work locations and funding will be determined with each order, with an estimated completion date of August 2, 2022.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers said that 16 bids were received for the projects through the Internet.
