Data-center cooling specialists merge as AI infrastructure demand grows

US data center construction site at sunset

Con Dig (14-Oct-26) — Liquid-cooling specialist 3C and data-center engineering company Datalec Precision Installations have combined to form 3C Datalec, positioning the business to serve growing demand for high-density artificial intelligence infrastructure.

The merged company projects more than $400 million in 2026 revenue and plans to hire approximately 200 engineers. It also intends to open new facilities in Austin, Texas, Calgary and Warsaw over the next year.

As operators deploy more powerful computing systems, data-center construction increasingly depends on specialist cooling, electrical integration and engineering expertise. Liquid cooling in particular is becoming a more important consideration in facilities designed for high-density AI workloads.

The announcement reflects consolidation among specialist providers serving data-center developers and operators. The company has not announced a specific construction contract value for its planned Austin facility.

Why it matters: Expansion by data-center engineering suppliers signals continued demand for specialist mechanical, electrical and cooling systems as AI infrastructure projects become more technically complex.
