Hawaiian Dredging nets $60.6M contract to build communications facility at Marine Corps Base

ConDig (22-Aug-17).  Hawaiian Dredging Construction Co. Inc. has landed a $60.6 million design and build contract for a two story regimental consolidated communications and electronics facility at Marine Corps Base, Hawaii. 

Under the deal with the Naval Facilities Engineering Command, the Honolulu-based company will also construct a six story multi-level concrete framed parking facility.

The project, which is slated for completion by March 2020, includes an unexercised option, which if exercised would increase cumulative contract value to $63.3 million.

The contract was competitively procured via the Federal Business Opportunities website, with five tenders received.

Meanwhile, the Defense Department also announced that Contrack Watts Inc. has won a $41.1 million fixed-price contract to revamp the sanitary sewer system at the Naval Base Guam.

Under the deal with the Naval Facilities Engineering Command, McLean, the Virginia-based company will replace, rehabilitate and upgrade sewage collection systems throughout the Naval Base Guam and outlying areas.

Work is expected to be completed by January 2020.
