Primoris nets $54M highway upgrade deal in Louisiana

ConDig (17-Jan-19).  Dallas, Texas-based construction and infrastructure company Primoris Services Corp has secured a $54 million contract to revamp a highway in Louisiana.

Under the deal with the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development, the project will involve site clearing, removal of bridge components, grading, drainage, pavement and precast concrete piles. It will also feature the upgrade of bridges, concrete roadway barriers, signs, lighting and intelligent transportation systems.

Work on the project is slated to start in the second quarter of this year and scheduled for completion in the third quarter of 2022.

Last month, Primoris bagged a $27 million contract to replace a bridge in southern Louisiana.

Primoris reported in November that profit increased 9% in its fiscal third quarter compared with the same period a year-ago despite a drop in revenue. For the quarter ended September 30, the company booked net income of $35.6 million compared with $32.7 million in the same period last year, driven largely by a rise in profit at the group’s civil and utilities division.

In September, Primoris said it had secured three contracts worth a total of $43 million for pipeline work in Northern Alberta, Canada. It also secured a $140 million deal for electric utility work in Northern California.tric utility work in Northern California.
