EMR lands $17M deal for maintenance hangar in Florida

ConDig (15-Jan-20).  Florida-based general contractor EMR Inc has been awarded a $17 million fixed-price contract to design and build a temporary maintenance hangar at the Naval Air Station (NAS) in Whiting Field, Florida.

Under the deal, the Niceville-based company will build a temporary hangar space and supporting spaces for helicopters. It also includes design, assembly and installation of temporary, relocatable structures for the hangar and support spaces such as administrative, restroom and breakrooms.

Work on the project is scheduled for completion by October 2025.

The Navy said the task order also contains five unexercised options, which if exercised, would increase the project’s value to $20.2 million.

The Naval Facilities Engineering Command Southeast said it received two bids for the project.
