ConDig (18-May-17). Construction and infrastructure company Primoris Services Corp has bagged a $12 million deal to procure and construct two battery energy storage systems in Texas.
Under the deal, the Dallas, Texas-based company said it will supply two 9.9MW short duration, energy storage projects using lithium-ion battery technology.
These utility scale battery storage systems will be an integral part of two existing wind farms in west Texas and are designed to provide ancillary services to the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) market.
Work is expected to start the second quarter and completion is due in the fourth quarter of this year.
The projects were secured by the company’s power, industrial and engineering division and awarded by an unnamed international investor-owned energy supplier.
Earlier this month, Primoris secured a $21 million three-year contract to install gas lines in Iowa.
It also recently reported net income of $7.7 million in the first quarter ended March 31 compared with $2.7 million in the same period last year, Revenue increased to a first quarter record of $561.5 million from $430.4 million in the first quarter of last year.
