ConDig (17-Jul-17). The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has appointed seven contractors for a potential $900 million contract to design and build healthcare facilities for the Air Force Medical Service across the country.
Work locations and funding will be determined with each order and an estimated completion date has been set for July 20, 2022.
A total of 28 bids were received via the Internet for the blockbuster contract, according to the Defense Department.
The awardees include Chicago-based Walsh Construction, Kansas City-based J.E. Dunn Construction, Texas-based J&J Maintenance Inc and United Excel Corp, located in Shawnee Mission, Kansas.
Also included on the list are Tennessee-based SpecPro Environmental Services LLC; Encompass IDBO LLC of Bucyrus, Kansas and Texas-based JJ Brun JV LLC.
Last month, the U.S. Army selected nine companies for a $249 million contract to design and build healthcare facilities for the Army Medical Command.
