Skanska bags additional $106M deal for integrative sciences building

ConDig (13-Nov–23) Swedish developer and contractor Skanska has secured an additional $106 million deal for an integrative sciences building at North Carolina State University.

Under the deal, the company will build a 5,300 square-meter (165,000-SF) facility that includes classrooms, teaching labs, research core facilities, collaboration/study space, café, and office space.

The building design will promote creativity and collaboration and showcase and celebrate North Carolina State University’s sciences, according to Skanska.

The project will be a flexible, interdisciplinary science building with a focus on chemistry, biochemistry, and biotechnology. It will also be LEED Gold certified.

The project kicked off in September this year and slated for completion in September 2026.

Last month, Skanska landed a $98 million deal to revamp a hospital in Paducah, Kentucky.
In September, Skanska won a $834 million contract to revamp and expand the I-405 corridor in Bothell, Washington.
