Skanska inks $94M Ohio university upgrade deal

ConDig (26-Mar–24) Swedish developer and contractor Skanska has signed a $94 million additional contract to expand and revamp a University in Ohio.

Under the deal with the University of Cincinnati, the project involves a 6,100-square meter renovation that includes new offices, open engineering research labs, classrooms, biology and chemistry teaching labs, and collaboration spaces.

It also includes a 13,400-square meter additional building that will house up-to-date open-bay chemistry research labs with chemical storage, material support, and facility service spaces.

Work on the project started earlier this year and is expected to reach phased occupancy starting in August 2025.

Last month, Skanska secured a $87 million contract to build a data center in Arizona.

Earlier in that month, Skanska landed a $113 million contract to build jet fuel transmission systems at LaGuardia Airport in New York.
