Skanska inks additional contract for mixed-use project in Nashville

ConDig (03-Jul-18).  Developer and contractor Skanska has secured a $74 million additional contract for a mixed-use construction project in Nashville.

Under the deal with developer OliverMcMillan and Spectrum Emery (OMSE), the contractor will carry out additional construction work on the $430 million mixed-use development Fifth + Broadway.

Construction on the project, which includes a 350-unit residential tower, started last year and is slated for completion in May, 2020. Skanska’s initial contract was announced in March this year.

Demolition of the Nashville Convention Center facility has been completed to make way for a development that will features 230,000 square feet of retail, restaurant and entertainment space and the National Museum of African American Music (NMAAM).

A 375,000-square-foot commercial office tower and updated and expanded conference center and meeting facilities for the Renaissance Nashville Hotel are also included.

Last month, Skanska secured a $188 million contract to build an acute care hospital in Hollywood, California.

Under the deal with CHA Hollywood Medical Center, L.P., Skanska will build a 16,350 square meter, five-story building and will replace the existing emergency department and kitchen.
