Skanska lands $155M deal for two college buildings

ConDig (18-Dec–23) Swedish developer and contractor Skanska has come top of the class in the race to secure a $155 million contract for two college buildings in Fort Worth, Texas.

Under the deal with Tarrant County College’s Northwest Campus, the contractor will construct two buildings, together totaling over 16,700 square meters, that include classrooms, academic and administration spaces, faculty offices, learning stairs, study/focus rooms, sculpture/painting studios and an auditorium and theater space.

Construction kicked off in early November and is slated to reach completion in October 2025.

This project is part of the college’s Bond Capital Improvements Program, with earlier phases already completed by Skanska since work began in 2021.

Last month, Skanska secured an additional $106 million deal for an integrative sciences building at North Carolina State University.
