ConDig (14-Jun-18). Developer and contractor Skanska has landed a $188 million contract to build an acute care hospital in Hollywood, California.
Under the deal with CHA Hollywood Medical Center, L.P., Skanska will build a 16,350 square meter, five-story building and will replace the existing emergency department and kitchen.
The building will include a surgical patient unit, neonatal intensive care unit, clinical lab, morgue and information technology services.
Skanska said that various demolition and upgrades of existing structures are required to support the new tower, including remodeling about 1,900 square meters of the adjacent existing patient tower.
Other work includes renovation of the existing courtyard and lobby and construction of a new ramp for the existing parking.
Construction of the facility is under way and is slated for completion in late 2020.
In April, Skanska secured a $44 million deal to build a new campus at Southern New Hampshire University’s College of Engineering, Technology and Aeronautics.
It also secured a $163 million extension to its contract to build a mixed-use scheme in Nashville in April.
