Skanska lands $48M deal for health and human services building in Connecticut

ConDig (10-Jan-20).  Swedish developer and contractor Skanska has secured a $48 million contract for a health and human services building in New Haven, Connecticut.

Under the deal with Southern Connecticut State University, Skanska will construct a four-story 94,750 square-foot building, which will combine services from several existing campus buildings.

The project aims to collocate the University’s health and human services departments, according to the contractor.

Construction on the project will kick off this month and is slated for completion in August 2021.

Skanska also said that it had bagged a $32 million contract to build an addition to Spaulding Hall at the University of New Hampshire.

The project includes the construction of a 40,000 square-foot addition adjacent to Spaulding Hall, an existing classroom and lab building in the heart of the University of New Hampshire campus. The facility will house primarily instructional and research laboratories.

Work on the project started in October and is set for completion in June 2021.

Earlier this week, a joint venture led by Swedish developer and contractor Skanska said it had secured a $113 million deal to build a surgery and clinic center in Atlanta, Georgia.

In November, Skanska signed an additional $42 million contract for the expansion of Portland airport.

In September, Skanska landed a $32 million deal to upgrade the University of Cincinnati College of Law in Cincinnati, in Ohio. It also said it had booked a $74 million deal to build residential apartments in Nashville, Tennessee.
