ConDig (10-Apr–24) Swedish developer and contractor Skanska has netted an additional $166 million deal to build a hospital in Lakeland, Florida.
Under the deal with Orlando Health, Skanska will oversee the construction of the planned 580,000-square-feet acute care Lakeland Highlands hospital.
The seven-story, 302-patient bed tower will feature a modular central utility plant, medical and support services including imaging, lab, and pharmacy. The hospital will also include additional healthcare amenities, Skanska said.
The initial contract was unveiled in July, with construction slated for completion in 2026.
Last month, Skanska secured a $1.4 billion deal to replace the Portage Bay Bridge in Seattle, Washington.
