Skanska lands $111M deal to expand Portland hospital

ConDig (04-Apr–23) Swedish developer and contractor Skanska has secured a $111 million contract to expand a hospital in Portland, Oregon.

Under the contract amendment deal with the Oregon Health & Science University, the contractor will oversee the construction of patient floors, parking and a mechanical and electrical space to support hospital functions. The contract also involves building three pedestrian sky bridges to connect the new tower to the existing buildings, roadway improvements, and a multi modal hub bus stop.

Construction of the approximately 50,000-square meter 14 story hospital expansion started last year and is expected to open to patients in 2026.

The contract amendment will be included in Skanska’s US order bookings for the first quarter of 2023.

Last month, Skanska bagged a $79.5 million contract to build a science center in Williamsburg, Virginia.

In December, Skanska snagged a $56 million deal to revamp naval shipyard berths in Portsmouth, Virginia.

Earlier in December, Skanska bagged a $52 million contract to regenerate a healthcare facility in New York.
