ConDig (17-May-22) A subsidiary of civil, building and specialty construction company Tutor Perini has snagged a $83.7 million contract to revamp a naval base in Guam.
Under the firm-fixed-price deal with the Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command, Guam-based subsidiary Black Construction will carry out design and construction of wharf improvements.
This will involve the renovation and modernization of Berth 2 at the base to provide full capability to support two loaded T‑AKE vessels with the proper depth of water, sufficient wharf length, and power and utilities, according to Tutor.
Work is set to begin immediately and the project is slated to be completed by September 2024.
In February, a Tutor subsidiary secured a $267 million contract to build a tunnel for the Eagle Mountain – Woodfibre gas pipeline project in Canada.
