Skanska lands $69M deal for health sciences facility

ConDig (22-Aug-25)  Swedish developer and contractor Skanska has secured a $69 million contract to build a health sciences building in Durham, North Carolina.

Under the deal with Durham Tech Community College, the contractor will build a three story, 7,400 square meter facility to house Durham Tech Community College’s Nursing, Surgical Technology, Anesthesia Technology, Respiratory Therapy, Clinical Research, and Occupational Therapy programs.

The building will also include allied health and simulation labs, classrooms, student collaboration areas and administrative support areas.

Construction will kick off next month and is slated for completion in November 2027.

Skanska announced earlier this week that it had been awarded a $249 million contract by the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) to deliver a main cable dehumidification project on the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge in New York.

In June, Skanska secured an additional contract worth $250 million to upgrade Logan Airport’s Terminal E in Boston.
