ConDig (27-Dec-22) Swedish developer and contractor Skanska has navigated its way to a $56 million deal to revamp naval shipyard berths in Portsmouth, Virginia.
Under the deal with AECOM, Skanska will refurbish structural components of berths 40 and 41 at the entrance to dry dock 8. It will also replace deteriorated pile systems, pile caps, cast-in-place concrete systems, concrete beams, and fender pile systems.
Work on the contract started in November and is earmarked for completion for July 2024.
Earlier this month, Skanska bagged a $52 million contract to regenerate a healthcare facility in New York.
Last month, Skanska said it had landed a $58 million contract as part of the joint venture vehicle to redevelop a building in Houston, Texas.
In October, Skanska bagged a $150 million contract to reconstruct and rehabilitate the Williamsburg Bridge in New York. It also landed a $72 million contract to expand a health and wellness facility in New Jersey.
